The Special Eurobarometer survey on the Future of Europe was carried out between 22 October and 20 November 2020 in the 27 EU Member States. 1 A Special Eurobarometer survey is an opinion survey conducted on behalf of the European Commission. These surveys address a wide variety of topical issues relating to the European Union throughout its Member States. The Eurobarometer results are published by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Communication.

The Eurobarometer was created in 1973, when the European Parliament released a report requesting the establishment of a permanent research institute that would study European public opinion. This Report summarises the results of the 2019 Special Eurobarometer on: Expectations and concerns of connected and automated driving, which is the first Eurobarometer survey on this topic.
